Miles of pristine beaches for beachcombing, surf fishing, swimming, clam digging (in season), kite flying, sand castle building, winter storm watching, horse back riding, bird watching-----all in the peaceful setting of the "North Coast".
Nearby Ocean Shores has an 18 hole PGA golf course with readily available tee times, moped rentals, horse-back riding, go-kart track and bumper boats (always a favorite with young and old alike), scenic flights, the Jetty, numerous gift and candy shops and, of course, many restaurants ranging from your favorite fast food to fine dining featuring fresh seafood. There is a ferry to Westport during the summer and weekends for deep sea fishing excursions and whale watching charters. 29 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises roam freely along Washington Coasts. Cliff-side fine dining at the Ocean Crest Resort is available a mile away. The Ocean Crest sits on a 100 ft. bluff over looking the Pacific Ocean. An indoor swimming pool is also available for a modest fee.
The new Quinalt Beach Resort and Casino is within a 15-minute drive. The resort is unique in its offerings---from the excitement of 200 slots and 26 gaming tables to the luxury of an elegant full service day spa and ocean front dining and lounge.
The Quinalt Indian Nation Cultural Center in Tahola is 10 minutes away. The Quinault Indian Reservation is a land of lush forest, swift rivers and 23 miles of unspoiled Pacific coastline. Visitors can obtain a pass to use the beaches at the tribal office. The famous blueback salmon spawns exclusively in the area. Stop at the Fish House where you can tour the cannery or buy fresh seafood.
The town of Pacific Beach is 2 miles to the south and hosts kite and sandcastle festivals and always welcomes new participants. The Recreation Center (home of the former Navy base) has great food at reasonable prices with an ocean view. There is a video arcade and a small bowling alley that caters to families. (They will even put bumpers in the gutter for the little ones!) Pacific Beach State park is the only state park in Washington with panoramic ocean view camping.
The Moclips River is within a short walk and has sandy shores for exploring, hiking and fishing.
